From Concept to Verifiable Prototype
Develop begins where discussion and architecture alone are no longer enough. The purpose is to build, integrate and test a proposed solution under realistic conditions to determine if it actually works and meets the required quality standards.
We prioritize the use of existing infrastructure where appropriate. Rather than automatically replacing systems, we evaluate how they can be extended or integrated. Our current local-AI benchmarking work exemplifies this approach: we measure what existing enterprise hardware can actually do before deciding on targeted acceleration.
Engineering & Validation Scope
Depending on the objective, the Develop phase may include:
- Proof-of-Concept (PoC): Building a minimal functional implementation to verify a core hypothesis.
- Prototyping: Developing a test setup to evaluate model performance, latency and quality.
- Integration Testing: Verifying the data flow between existing systems and new AI/automation components.
- Hardware Benchmarking: Measuring the impact of different GPU configurations or runtime optimizations.
- Operational Limit Testing: Identifying where the system fails or becomes unstable under load.
Determining the Path Forward
We use the prototype to answer critical engineering questions: Is the result good enough for the task? Is the performance sufficient for production? Can the existing infrastructure be extended, or is a replacement necessary?
